The judges at the first Railway Industry Award of the Agenda Bahnindustrie Frauen (Railway Industry Agenda Women) had a little surprise in store for us. No less than two ÖBB employees emerged as winners of the award and share the coveted first place in the “individual award” category. Second place in the “Teams” category went to Mirela Milovic, plant technician at ÖBB Train Tech. The award ceremony took place as part of the “Innovationskraft Eisenbahn” (Railway Innovation) event organised by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK). Projects were sought that broaden the railway industry to include the perspective of women and thereby advance the entire sector. The goal: to make female experts in the railway industry visible.
“Gold” was shared by Michaela Haberler-Weber (photo 2nd from left, project “Greenlight”) from ÖBB-Infrastruktur and colleague Vera-Valerie Capek-Krautgartner from the Rail Cargo Group (3rd from left, project “DAK”). Silver went to ÖBB Train Tech plant manager Mirela Milovic. (2nd from right, project “Nightjet service hall”)
