One of the most modern workshops in Austria is being built where there were only sidings and old storage areas until recently. From spring 2022, the new Nightjet sets will be equipped, cleaned, serviced and maintained here in a modern one-stop concept.
The new hall is impressive not just for its appearance, but also for its technical features. A modern disposal concept for vehicle waste water and a modern photovoltaic system for power supply or optimised work stands are just some of the highlights. Sustainable wooden trusses on the ceiling and natural daylight will offer employees a pleasant feel-good atmosphere going forward.
In addition to the technical advantages, the hall construction has another special feature. The project is being managed by an all-female team. The project manager, site manager and site supervisor are all female. 30% of the planning team are also female. “We’re pleased that our construction site is also a showcase project in terms of the involvement of 14 top-qualified female engineers”, confirms Sandra Gott-Karlbauer, Managing Director of Technical Services. “And we’re looking forward to seeing the first Nightjets roll in this spring!”
